Kenneth Jefferies, 49, of Bridgeport, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after officers with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received word that he would be in the area with a gun and the hallucinogen PCP, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
While on patrol, officers spotted Jefferies near Stillwater Avenue and Finney Lane and pulled him over, Conklin said.
During the stop, officers found that he was driving with a suspended license and searched the vehicle where they uncovered a fully loaded EIG five-shot revolver under the center console, Conklin said. A baggie with eight bullets was also found, but no PCP was located.
Jeffries, who has past arrests for sexual assault, drug dealing, and multiple assault arrests, is not allowed to have a gun because of his previous felony convictions, Conklin said.
He was charged with criminal possession of a revolver, criminal possession of ammunition, illegal possession of a weapon in a vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
Jeffries is being held on $150,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11.
